该片讲述了北魏时期柔然军入侵边境，国家召集军户出征，花木兰为替年迈的父亲尽军户职责，便女扮男装入伍来到边关要塞常平仓。在军中花木兰结实了几位好友，原本只为替父尽责的花木兰不愿伤人性命，不料受命前去解救皇子时好友袁洪被抓，袁洪死在花木兰面前，花木兰明白了乱世之中置身事外便无法保护所爱之人。从此花木兰在战场上奋勇杀敌、屡建战功，敌军节节败退。花木兰替好友报仇后带兵凯旋而归，正在众人欢庆之时，敌军趁机对城内投入数量足有百万的老鼠，军士受到重创。小人萧清泉前去打探敌情时又将敌军“死士”带入城中，军队百姓伤亡惨重。敌军兵临城下，为保国家昌盛百姓安危，花木兰几人以生命代价死守常平仓。

BETWEEN WAVES is a science-fiction dramatic feature film about a woman's pursuit to join her missing lover by crossing into a parallel dimension. Even after his presumed death, Jamie continues to be visited by her lover Isaac, a quantum physicist, who pleads for her to join him in a parallel plane. Jamie follows a map and notebook Isaac m.77mi.cc left for her and embarks on a journey to the island of São Miguel in the Açores. At the center of the Atlantic Ocean, Jamie begins to untangle the truth of what really happened the night Isaac disappeared, learning that she had a greater part in it than she cares to remember.
